When it comes to birth injury and trauma litigation, every state is different. My team and I have argued birth injury cases in more than 30 states to date and are continuously expanding. We have appeared before those judges, are familiar with the local laws and practices. I cannot explain how much this matters.
Overview
Edward Aucoin advocates for families and children in birth injury and birth trauma litigation.
He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases and has served as first and second chair trial attorney in states including Illinois, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arkansas, Nevada, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, among others.
Adept in every aspect of medical negligence cases, from pleadings and discovery to experts and trial, Edward is particularly effective during depositions — where, in his view, these types of cases are won or lost. With his sound footing in both law and medicine, Edward is regularly able to extract what really happened, in between the lines of what has (or, more likely, has not) been expressly written in a chart or ‘op notes.’
In addition to his 25+ years of experience, Edward also brings a valuable strategic perspective gleaned from previous defense-side roles. Prior to joining G&E, he worked at several medical negligence defense firms in the Chicago area, focusing on medical malpractice and professional liability as well as commercial litigation. He also was a senior trial attorney at a national insurance company.
