Brown

After working as an educator for 40 years, my mother depended on her pension. When I work with clients who are committing others’ assets, I think of my mom, and all the other moms, dads and grandparents out there, not to mention dependents. It is an honor to serve as a sort of steward and to protect their futures from malfeasance. And I know my institutional investor clients share this commitment.

Overview

With a focus on client acquisition, relations and retention, Bobby Brown protects the investments and reputations of the firm’s institutional investment clients in global financial markets.

Bobby also builds firm infrastructure for what is a more nascent stage effort involving civil rights violations—for example, disparate state funding for historically black colleges and universities, or disparate reporting and treatment of the sexual assault of female victims. Bobby helps to identify potential aggrieved parties, making them aware of G&E’s size, resources and commitment to their case.

After graduating from Notre Dame, Bobby played wide receiver in the NFL, where he was originally signed by the Green Bay Packers and went on to play for the Cleveland Browns. From this experience, he continues to take the lessons of teamwork, with each member playing their respective, coordinated parts to achieve a goal—in this case, of equity and fairness in the markets, and in terms of civil rights.

After graduating from law school, Bobby took a role as a corporate attorney at a law firm in New Jersey. He then obtained his MBA from Yale’s School of Management. Prior to joining G&E, Mr. Brown was a member of the institutional sales team at Rockefeller Capital Management, working with college endowments, foundations and public pension funds.

Outside the Office

I volunteer, mentor and coach youth sports (football, basketball, and track & field). I believe it’s up to us to create that glimmer of hope in our young people and keep that spark alive. That’s what helps us get through the hard times and keeps us connected to the future.
