Carter

I am proud to tell people what I do for a living. Fighting for the restoration of natural resources and obtaining verdicts righting corporate wrongs is some of the most time-sensitive and impactful work lawyers can be doing right now.

Overview

Litigator Juliana Carter represents sovereign and public entity clients, primarily in matters addressing the systemic environmental contamination of public resources. She additionally partners with state Attorneys General and municipalities pursuing consumer protection actions against manufacturers of dangerous products.

After launching her career at a prestigious Am Law 100 defense firm – where she was trained to approach complex litigation with precision, discipline, and strategic clarity – Juliana reached an inflection point and searched for a practice where could align her personal values with her professional aspirations. She found such alignment at Grant & Eisenhofer.

Juliana focuses much of her current practice on prosecuting claims against Monsanto arising out of its historic production, marketing and sale of toxic PCBs, which now contaminate natural resources and public buildings throughout the nation.

A case alleging the intentional release of known-carcinogen ethylene oxide that contaminated the air in a company’s surrounding community, and another matter alleging harms to taxpayers and consumers arising out of tobacco companies’ failure to honor the terms of the Master Settlement Agreement, offer additional examples of the nature and scope of Juliana’s practice. She is particularly interested in emerging toxics and intersectional environmental justice.

Known for her warmth and tenacity, Juliana approaches every challenge with optimism, curiosity, and fearlessness.

“To love a place is not enough. We must find ways to heal it.”
