DeGroote

For both clients and colleagues, I am always available to go the extra mile and do whatever is needed – whether that’s reviewing or rewriting a document, or refining strategy and arguments as we prepare for trial.

Overview

Caley DeGroote litigates complex and mass torts as well catastrophic personal injury matters – from client intake, negotiations, and trial.

Caley is passionate about getting justice for people who have been injured. Her focus includes toxic tort cases (such as the Norfolk Southern train derailment case), products liability cases, medical malpractice cases, or other catastrophic injury cases.

Client communication is a priority for Caley. She understands that, for most of her clients, they’ve never been through the litigation process before, and she takes the time to thoroughly explain what is happening, and why, which she feels is important in order to help her clients feel comfortable in the outcome of their case.

Prior to joining G&E, Caley advocated for plaintiffs injured in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.  She also served as law clerk to the honorable Judge Frank K. Friedman on the Court of Appeals of Virginia and to the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Virginia.

Outside the Office

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me at one of my siblings’ houses. My twin is also an attorney who lives five doors down from me. We spend a lot of time together, sometimes arguing the law! Otherwise, I spend most of my free time watching birds, reading fantasy novels, and letting my pets boss me around.
