Hanly

Protecting both communities and the environment from significant environmental harm has always struck me as one of the most important issues of our time. I’m driven by a commitment to securing accountability in matters with real public consequences.

Overview

Edith (Edie) D. Hanly focuses her practice dually on environmental and bankruptcy litigation – an apt combination given the number of defendants who, as a last resort, seek to escape accountability via this route.

Immediately before coming to Grant & Eisenhofer, Edie completed a clerkship with The Honorable Orelia E. Merchant in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Edie also was previously a litigation associate at a national plaintiff’s law firm practicing environmental litigation serving as co-counsel with Grant & Eisenhofer, which is how she was first introduced to the firm.

As a law student, Ms. Hanly was a member of the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic where she represented residents of Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley” in environmental justice litigation and served as an extern for The Honorable Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
