Years spent in a courtroom, trying cases before coming to G&E, have left me with valuable insights into what the front-line litigation teams will need, in terms of discovery, to effectively advance our clients’ cases. Document review is a much quieter litigation component, and yet it can make or break the case.
Overview
Maram Jafar centers her practice on complex litigation matters, handling projects for a number of different practice groups, primarily for mass casualty and finance matters.
Maram’s primary responsibility is litigation support, which entails carefully sifting through evidence, connecting and assembling the pieces like a puzzle, flagging “hot” documents, conducting deposition prep and drafting periodic reports on her findings.
Prior to joining G&E, Ms. Jafar had a solo practice in Bensalem, PA where she handled finance matters and bankruptcies, an experience that now elevates her understanding of documents in the M&A and SPAC context in particular. She also has experience in immigration and previously handled personal injury cases in a small boutique firm in Philadelphia.
One of Maram’s standout strengths is her skillful use of the document review software, Nuix. She not only navigates its features fully and with ease but also brings sharp focus and efficiency to the review process, zeroing in on what matters most without getting bogged down in irrelevant details. Even after completing her portion of a project, colleagues will often turn to her for help recalling or locating key information, and she can always be counted on to find it quickly.
I have gathered enough evidence, in the form of unsolicited comments, to objectively state that I make the best cheesecake in the world. It’s a recipe I conceived of myself—but don’t ask for it, because I don’t ever measure. For a time, I even sold them.
