Puritz

The med mal defense bar is willing to try cases and won’t give up anything of value until the trial date. This suits us just fine. We know the medicine and are always ready to “put 12 in the box” and try the case to its conclusion—against anyone.

Overview

James Puritz represents families and children in birth injury and birth trauma litigation. He also handles general medical malpractice cases across the country.

Prior to joining G&E, Jim was a plaintiff’s trial attorney focusing on medical malpractice and catastrophic loss litigation. Before entering private practice, Jim began his legal career in public service, serving as an Assistant District Attorney in several Massachusetts counties and as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston. Jim has tried over fifty jury trials to verdict as first chair.

In addition to his clients and his own extremely competitive nature, Jim is driven by such factors as the lack of available prenatal care (“doctor deserts”) throughout the country, and our country’s terrible maternal mortality rate (CDC reports more than 80% of maternal deaths during pregnancy are preventable). It is his hope that G&E’s successful medical malpractice and birth injury cases will improve patient safety and medical practices throughout the country.
