Representing child sexual abuse survivors who were harmed by members of the Archdiocese of Baltimore
Plaintiff(s):
Childhood survivors of sexual abuse whose claims were previously time-barred under an existing statute of limitations.
Case type / claims:
In April of 2024, Maryland’s Governor signed the Child Victim’s Act of 2023 (“CVA”) into law. The law enables sexual abuse survivors to file lawsuits even if their claims have expired under an existing statute of limitations, and removes the SOL for all future lawsuits. Working with co-counsel, G&E represents over 175 abuse survivors.
Congruently, G&E serves on the Creditor’s Committee in the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s bankruptcy case, which filed a petition for bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland (Harner, J.). Along with co-counsel, we submitted 90 proofs of claim in the bankruptcy on behalf of our shared clients.

Archdiocese of Baltimore and individual clergy members
